The iTower is constructed of heavy-gauge steel; full panels and welds replace bolts and screws commonly found on similar equipment.
Its industrial-grade components and hardened video monitor are designed for outdoor use, to withstand harsh weather and physical abuse. Outdoor-use day/night cameras are also sealed, protecting them from dust and the elements to ensure visual clarity.
Containing sealed batteries that are leak-proof, spill-proof and minimal gassing, they require no maintenance in their lifetime.
The base model contains a battery bank which powers the electronics, and an optional solar panel can recharge the batteries when the unit is not in use. While the unit is deployed, batteries are recharged using a user-supplied generator or commercial power.
With the new diesel option, an auto-start system automatically engages to charge the batteries when they run low. With four cameras running day and night, the 113 litre fuel supply lasts at least 30 days without refuelling; with fewer cameras, it lasts even longer, depending on environmental influences.
